Brook Street Chapel

The Chapel participated in this year’s National Heritage Open Days where the theme was “Astounding Inventions”.  We set up displays of 12 Unitarian Inventors (or innovators).  The Chapel was open to visitors on Sunday 11th September (12.15 – 4.00pm) and Tuesday 13th September (10.00am – 3.00pm).

A number of Chapel members carried out research into selected Inventors, which proved to be a very interesting experience, we then produced the displays.  We were delighted with the number of visitors who came to look at the exhibits.

Knutsford library are showing these exhibits over the next few months in the cabinet often used for Elizabeth Gaskell displays.  The exhibit will be limited to 3 inventors at a time to fit in the cabinet –  currently showing Florence Nightingale,  Erasmus Darwin and Sir Francis Ronalds.
