This year the Gaskell Service was held on the actual anniversary of Elizabeth’s birthday – 29 September 1810. A short memorial service was held at the graveside and flowers were placed on the grave before everyone moved into the Chapel. The Chapel Service was led by Len Elias with the theme of “Celebrations”. This included several readings from Gaskell’s works by members of the Gaskell Society. Our thanks to Len for a lovely Service.
