The Chapel was filled to capacity to enjoy a great evening’s entertainment with performances by the professional Alteri Choir (led by Musical Director David Jones) and organ music by our resident organist Aya Pitcher. Drinks were served in the Interval in the Chapel Hall.
In the first half the Choir sang Songs of Springtime by E J Moeran and Five English Folksongs by Vaughan Williams. Aya played Nimrod by Edward Elgar on the Chapel organ between the two sets of songs.
In the second half the Choir sang Six Choral Folksongs by Holst. The audience then joined in with enthusiastic singing of Jerusalem to the music of Hubert Parry played by Aya. The concert ended with the Final Chorus and Chorale of Bach’s St John Passion + a short encore from the Choir.
